- ➤ The Museum of Northern California Art (MONCA) is featuring a water-themed exhibit 'H-2-O' with about 70 works until Sunday, Jan. 18; it will launch its largest art show 'Perch, Flutter, Soar' on Friday, Jan. 23 ahead of the Snow Goose Festival. Action News Now

- ➤ Pleasant Valley High School senior Paige Kennedy led her Vikings to an 11 to 4 start while averaging 10.5 points and five rebounds per game and keeping a 4.75 GPA. She was named Scholar Athlete of the Month (by the Chico Sports Club) and plans to pursue pediatric dentistry. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico State nursing students cancelled their annual Nigeria trip amid rising religious tensions and violence — they will instead send medical supplies to help the underserved community in Ozu Abom until conditions improve. Action News Now
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the League of Women Voters and AAUW host a public forum on groundwater sustainability at First Baptist Church in Chico from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The event features five speakers (including Professor Todd Green) who will explain groundwater challenges and new water regulations. KRCR
- ➤ Cal Water began a water infrastructure upgrade in central Chico this week to install new water mains and treatment equipment to meet EPA PFAS regulations by 2029. Crews will work Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Chestnut and Hazel Streets, with completion expected in April and May. Action News Now

- ➤ Effective July 1, a new California law requires large restaurant chains to list the top nine allergens on menus or via QR code with a physical option available — making it easier for diners to check food ingredients. KRCR
- ➤ Chico Area Recreation & Park District is hosting three community input sessions to shape its 2026-2031 Master Plan for parks, director Holli Drobny said on Action News Now at Noon. Residents will be invited to share ideas at planned sessions (exact details coming soon). Action News Now
