COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Camp Fire survivor Jeremy Kliefoth moved into his 275 sqft home on The Ridge on Wednesday, built with help from Paradise High students and local nonprofits (supporting the project) that taught construction skills and provided stable housing after the fire. KRCR
- ➤ The American Red Cross is talking with emergency services in Northstate counties to prepare shelter sites if extreme winter weather develops. The team has already opened one shelter (in Amador County) and is checking volunteer availability to support residents when counties request help. KRCR
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Hat Creek Construction reported that in 2025 it sustained 185 jobs and nearly $110M in revenue by shipping 314,400 tons of materials and recycling 131,500 tons of asphalt. The company said it will hire new workers and advance expansion projects in 2026 — a sign of their solid commitment to the North State’s growth. Action News Now

- ➤ California Water Service is upgrading water mains in central Chico to boost water supply and fire protection. Crews will install 1,750 feet of pipes on Chestnut, W. 12th, and W. 14th streets Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — work is set to finish by May. Action News Now

- ➤ Chico State Track and Field runner Brody Staley (a sophomore) broke a 54-year 400m record last April and helped his relay team win at the 2025 CCAA Championships.
