- ➤ Chico Police installed a new memorial plaque downtown on Feb. 22 to honor Officer Carleton Bruce (the department's only officer to die on duty in 1938). Officers and his descendants gathered at the site as part of the annual remembrance. KRCR
- ➤ A Chico nonprofit is continuing to send life-saving medical supplies overseas as Russia’s war on Ukraine marks its fourth year (Feb. 24). The organization said its ongoing shipments support critical international health efforts. Action News Now

- ➤ Xfinity customers in Chico experienced service disruptions Tuesday night after a third-party construction company cut fiber during work at 3460 SILVERBELL RD. Repair crews worked to restore service by midnight (Pacific) as the company apologized for the interruption. Action News Now

- ➤ Charlie Huston, a Chico State alum with a breakthrough novel that launched a creative career, credits local mentors with shaping his craft as he reflects on struggles in New York. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Local high school students can join the Young Entrepreneur Initiative at Thursday Night Market from April 23 to May 14 — they will get a sponsored booth, business coaching, and promotional support. Applications close March 13, and the community is invited to support the youth section. Action News Now
- ➤ The Butte County Local Food Network is expanding school garden programs to help students at Chico Achieve Charter School and Ridgeview High School learn about growing fruits and vegetables (with support from volunteers and local farmers).
