- ➤ Chico Reads Across America will host a free three-hour event with crafts, reading, games, and lunch at Card Community Center on Sunday, Mar. 1. Local teachers will offer books for participants to take home. Action News Now
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chico State officials confirmed that Whitney Hall remains closed indefinitely due to the need for costly HVAC replacement and seismic retrofit upgrades. Students will continue to use alternative dorms as plans to build a new residence hall are being considered. KRCR
- ➤ Chico State students are applying their design skills in the Community Outreach Internship Program as they work with Habitat for Humanity to create new floor plans. The internship, led by Professor Rouben Mohiuddin (Design SI), opens applications before summer for students halfway through their bachelor's program with basic design experience. Action News Now

- ➤ A flood warning is in effect from this evening to late tomorrow as the Sacramento River at Ord Ferry is expected to crest at 114.9 feet tomorrow morning and then recede, causing closures on Ord Ferry Road to Chico Road — residents are advised to avoid flooded roads. Action News Now
