- ➤ 530 Food Rescue Coalition works in Butte County to recover surplus food from local businesses and deliver it to nonprofits that help residents facing food insecurity amid rising grocery prices. The nonprofit uses an app to alert volunteers when donations are ready—reducing waste while supporting the county's food pantry system. North State Public Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chico AAUW announced that its Antique Appraisal Faire will be held on March 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chico Women's Club on East Third Street to appraise antiques (for a $10 fee per item or matched set) and raise funds for scholarships for seven rising 8th-grade girls to attend AAUW Tech Trek (a week-long science and math camp at UC Davis). - ➤ Today, parking lots 'C' near the observatory and 'E' near Horseshoe Lake in Upper Bidwell Park are closed for maintenance as city crews regrade the lots (weather permitting) to fill potholes and improve drainage. The work will finish Friday afternoon, March 21. Action News Now
