- ➤ In January, Chico Police Department officers responded to a welfare check after Vanessa suffered a serious medical emergency, and she fully recovered. Vanessa later met with officers Weightman (and Garcia) to thank them for their timely help. KRCR
- ➤ Chico State will host the third annual This Way to Resilience Symposium on March 26 and 27 — featuring an evening of storytelling on March 26 and a concert at Bidwell Bowl on March 27. The two-day event includes free Red Cross disaster training and community workshops. Chico State Today
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A new coffee shop named Great State Coffee is set to open in August in downtown Chico at the corner of 3rd Street and Broadway (the former Starbucks location). Owners Alec Binyon and Jasmine James will offer coffee, tea, breakfast, and lunch items. Action News Now
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Butte County Public Works will start the Skyway Roadside Fuels Reduction Project to clear hazardous vegetation along 12 miles from Magalia to Stirling City, reducing wildfire risks. Construction begins March 30 and finishes May 1 — funded by FEMA. Action News Now
