- ➤ Rebuild Paradise Foundation, which helped rebuild the ridge after the Camp Fire for 7 years, is set to close this summer. It will hold a sunset celebration on June 27 at 6 p.m. at Paradise Community Park (highlighting its work with insurance companies) to honor its legacy. Action News Now

- ➤ U.S. gas prices have risen above $4 a gallon due to supply cuts linked to the Iran war, with California prices near $5.89 per gallon according to AAA. Local drivers in Chico may soon see higher fuel costs that could impact daily budgets. Action News Now

- ➤ Psychological science graduate student Jennifer Trujillo, a first-generation Latina scholar, earned the Rawlins Award and will complete her master’s degree this May at Chico State; she plans to pursue a doctorate at a UC campus & mentor peers. Chico State Today
- ➤ Butte College will honor alumni Carlos Alcantar of CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit and Alfred Koala, founder of Feeding Nations through Education, during a gala on April 25 at 1705 Manzanita Avenue to raise funds for student programs. Tickets cost $150. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico Area Recreation and Park District will launch its new online summer camp registration system on April 14 at 8 a.m. The platform features a personalized dashboard (with FastTrack to save programs) and requires users to create a new Rec account for future sign-ups from June. Action News Now

- ➤ Butte County began a wildfire prevention project along 12 miles of the Skyway between Magalia and Stirling City on Mar. 30, funded by a FEMA grant to create defensible space + protect a key evacuation route. Action News Now
- ➤ Firefighting crews put out a vegetation fire on Catalpa Lane west of Berry Creek around 11:30 p.m. on Mar. 31; the blaze burned up to half an acre of brush in Butte County & smoke was visible on Alert California. Action News Now
- ➤ In Forbestown, the Butte County Fire Department responded to a half-acre vegetation fire today on Black Bart Road after a controlled burn escaped containment. Officials reported no injuries or damage and advised residents on safe burning practices by contacting Air Quality Management and keeping burn piles within safe limits. Action News Now

- ➤ Tuesday, the Butte County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue K9 team trained at Butte County Public Works Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility to prepare for emergency scenarios — they practiced navigating green waste piles and mattress debris common after floods. The exercise built confidence between handlers and their dogs. Action News Now
- ➤ Hamilton City officials confirmed Tuesday that the new post office on Second Street is delayed due to electrical failure and water intrusion — issues that locked the doors. Without home delivery, residents continue a 20-mile round trip to downtown Chico for mail. Action News Now
