- ➤ The Rotary Club of Paradise will host the 2nd annual Butte County Search & Rescue Gala on April 18 at 6 p.m. at the Sierra Nevada Big Room in Chico — featuring live music, dinner and auctions with special guest Sheriff Kory Honea to support Operation Rescue Ready. Action News Now
- ➤ Local youth-serving groups can apply for grants up to $1,500 through the North Valley Community Foundation's Youth Action Project Mini-Grant Program — applications opened April 1 and close April 30 at 11:59 p.m. — as a 13-member Youth Advisory Council reviews awards totaling $20,000. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tehama County officials say that federal cuts under H.R. 1 are already reducing health and human services, prompting them to seek extra funding today in the county. Action News Now
- ➤ Three Chico Fire Department crew members traveled to Pennsylvania on Apr. 2 to complete the final check of their new tiller truck. The test (to confirm safety standards) brings the department one step closer to bringing the truck home to serve the community. Action News Now
- ➤ The California DMV canceled about 13,000 commercial driver licenses in early March as part of a federal crackdown targeting non-domiciled drivers.
