  • A Chico family is hosting an annual bake sale this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Hartley Park — honoring cancer fighter Britney Sweeney’s legacy — to raise funds for the Enloe Health Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center, with raffle prizes, a silent auction, and a bloodmobile.  Action News Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The CSU released its most comprehensive survey on AI in higher ed after polling nearly 94,000 faculty, staff, and students in fall 2025. At Chico State, professor Zach Justus said faculty are using AI in varied ways and expect that understanding AI will enhance future job skills (survey details included).  KRCR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A recent Internal Affairs Committee meeting saw downtown business owners warn that the revitalization project could harm foot traffic and hurt local operations. The City Council will meet later today at 6 p.m. in the council chambers to continue addressing these concerns.  Action News Now
  • Residents on Emilio Way found human waste along Bikeway 99 on Friday morning, and city officials said they are coordinating Public Works & Code Enforcement efforts under the Warren Settlement while neighbors request more regular patrols.  Action News Now
