- ➤ Butte Humane Society will host Woofstock 2026 on Saturday, April 18 at Silver Dollar Fairgrounds (11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with live local bands, vendor booths and dog friendly activities to support shelter animals. KRCR

- ➤ Union Pacific’s Big Boy Locomotive will make a rare stop in Oroville Thursday as part of its coast-to-coast tour celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary. Built in the 1940s for World War II support, the steam train will also travel through Plumas and Butte counties & draw local train fans. Action News Now

- ➤ Chico High School named freshman Connor Blair as Scholar Athlete of the Month; he plays both football and rugby, maintains a 4.0 GPA and enjoys biology as his favorite subject + his recognition highlights a balance between academics and sports. Action News Now
- ➤ Joana Camarena, a first-generation student in accounting and finance at Chico State, will begin a career at KPMG in 2027 following a successful internship in Los Angeles. Her academic progress is fueled by strong campus support — community engagement and mentorship that prepared her for the business world. Chico State Today
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Goats will return to Bidwell Park next week on Wednesday to graze 20 acres in Cedar Grove and World of Trees and help reduce wildfire risk. Paradise Grazing Co. will supply 350–400 goats with a herdsman, guard dogs on duty, an electric fence, and safety signs while trails remain open. Action News Now

- ➤ PG&E will automatically apply the California Climate Credit in April to qualifying accounts, giving a $46.26 natural gas credit to residential customers with active accounts and a $36.18 electric credit to eligible small businesses (no action is needed), while a possible change for electric credits is expected later.
