- ➤ Chico Unified School District holds a community focus group today at 6:00 p.m. to gather input on plans to upgrade school security cameras and infrastructure. The district asks participants to RSVP by Sunday, April 12 to secure space and materials. KRCR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Chico Park Division, with Chico Fire Department, Big Chico Creek Ecological Preserve, and California Conservation Corps, will burn vegetation piles at Upper Bidwell Park between South Rim Trail and Whispering Winds Lane today and Thursday, April 23. Officials say the burns will reduce fire fuels and may cause slight smoke. Action News Now

- ➤ Pioneer Community Energy’s service expansion approved by the California Public Utilities Commission will add 16 territories in 2027, including Colusa County, the City of Colusa and the City of Williams. The expansion will double its customer base + create the largest community choice aggregator in California. Action News Now
- ➤ Churn Creek Road at Hartnell Avenue will have off and on traffic control — crews are repairing a gas utility — starting tonight and running overnight until Thursday, then resuming from Monday, Apr. 27 to Friday, May 8. Action News Now
