- ➤ El Rey Prevue will showcase live music, improv comedy, film excerpts and storytelling at Chico Women's Club. The fundraiser is set for Friday, May 8 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (tickets are $28.52) and includes a silent auction to support the theater restoration. Action News Now
- ➤ A new $135K fence will soon be installed at Caper Acres Playground in Bidwell Park to improve security and appearance. Chico Park Manager Shane Romain said the project is a key local upgrade (schedule details pending). Action News Now

- ➤ PG&E responded to a gas leak at West Ninth and Chestnut streets Wednesday; crews excavated a safe distance along the gas main and squeezed the line to stop the flow, and the company is investigating if a Sennaza contractor caused the leak + verifying USA marks for the gas line. Action News Now
- ➤ Butte County residents can learn which areas face higher flood risks as FEMA holds a flood map meeting today (5:30 p.m.) at the Masonic Lodge on West East Avenue in Chico. Officials say five areas may see changes following the update. Action News Now
- ➤ Crews will begin reconstructing South Park Drive in Bidwell Park in June (as part of the rehabilitation project) with new asphalt paving, updated signs, and vehicle exclusion gates planned. Action News Now
