  • The remains of World War II veteran James 'Stanley' Mitchell, who died as a prisoner of war in the Philippines in 1943, were identified in September 2024 and returned for a full honors burial in Los Molinos. A service in Hamilton City united family and community members — who expressed relief and remembrance — as they honored his sacrifice.  Action News Now
  • Chico Air Museum held its annual open house and fly-in, drawing aviation fans from across Northern California who enjoyed a pancake breakfast by the Butte County Sheriff's Office and a 4D theater experience by the United States Air Force. The Tuskegee Airmen Heritage Chapter was there — sharing the history of America's first Black military aviators — and pilots told stories about antique aircraft like a 1943 PT19 used to train World War II pilots.  Action News Now

  • Former CSU Chico Wildcat football team players united at a recent reunion, with former half back Don Carlsen stating it was one of his life's highlights besides the birth of his children. A wind advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. today until 8 p.m. PDT Monday with north winds reaching 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph—drivers should secure outdoor items.  Action News Now
