- ➤ Community Action Agency will hold a free drive-through food distribution event at Palermo Grange on May 16 from 10 a.m. until noon or until supplies last; volunteers will place pre-boxed food weighing 17 to 22 pounds directly into cars to safely serve those in need. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico Housing Action Team will host the inaugural Nearly Summer Wellness Fair + Music Festival on May 25 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Commons Social Emporium; local wellness businesses and six bands will perform to raise funds for housing support services. Action News Now

- ➤ On Sunday, May 11, a woman was rescued after her car plunged off Honey Run Road into Butte Creek in Butte County — emergency responders from Cal Fire, CHP, and Butte County Search and Rescue extracted her from the water and treated her minor injuries. KRCR

- ➤ Chico launched its Downtown Revitalization Project with a workshop held Monday night where residents offered ideas on updating downtown streets and replacing old utility lines. Public Works Director Brendan Ottoboni said follow-up meetings will be held over the summer and fall to refine plans for improvements—like upgrading over 100-year-old sewer pipes—and to shape downtown’s future.
