- ➤ Chico police responded today after a property owner reported a trespasser at a small apartment complex on West 5th Street near Timber Creek Apartments and Show Love Thrift — officers used a drone to check for unauthorized activity and arrested two individuals, a woman with a meth pipe and a man carrying drugs, while one officer kept his gun drawn at the front door. - ➤ Officials at Pleasant Valley High School are planning how to fix the fire damage to the art building from April 25 — the school board will consider an emergency declaration to speed up repairs. Action News Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Butte County received a $7.7 million state grant to fund its first mental health rehabilitation center in the former Enloe Behavioral Health building on Cohasset Road. The facility will house 40 beds—20 for county residents and 20 for surrounding counties—and is expected to open by spring 2026. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico's Enloe Health held its 2025 Quality Summit Wednesday evening, May 14, where staff shared 85 posters on improvements in patient care—such as the imaging team cutting delays by 68%—and celebrated work from multiple departments.
