- ➤ Chico Cemetery will host a free Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25 with music, wreath-laying, a vintage WW2 plane flyover and American flags (881 Mangrove Ave.) while Glen Oaks Memorial Park will hold its ceremony at 2 p.m. (11115 Midway). Action News Now
- ➤ The Chico Animal Shelter will offer fee-waived adoptions on June 6 from noon to 4 p.m. at 2579 Fair Street as part of California Adopt-a-Pet Day. It will join Butte Humane Society & Northwest SPCA in a statewide push to help pets find homes. Action News Now
- ➤ Sycamore Pool at One Mile remains uncleaned this Memorial Day weekend as officials say cleaning is legally set for June 15 (due to restrictions protecting endangered Chinook salmon). Swimmers are warned to navigate debris and sediment at their own risk. Action News Now
- ➤ Free Memorial Day ceremonies will take place on Monday, May 25 at Chico Cemetery and Glen Oaks Memorial Park. The events will feature hundreds of American flags, wreath-laying ceremonies and live music + a planned flyover. Action News Now

- ➤ Twin brothers Joaquin and Diego Cervantes-González celebrated consecutive graduations at Chico State and SDSU this past weekend — their family drove 600 miles from Visalia to support the milestone as Joaquin earned a degree in business administration and finance and Diego obtained a degree in kinesiology. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Parks officials in Chico have released a draft Post‐Fire Structural Assessment of the historic Bidwell Mansion to guide future planning after a December fire; they plan to meet with the Mechoopda Tribe and hold a community workshop in early August to review treatment options. KRCR
- ➤ PG&E issued a weather all-clear for 11 counties under shutoffs that began early Sunday, allowing crews to inspect lines for wind damage and restore power to 2,000 of 4,700 customers. In Tehama and Glenn counties, power had been scheduled to return Monday at 4 p.m. and at 11 p.m., respectively. Action News Now
