- ➤ A local non-profit proposed a tiny home village to help Chico's most vulnerable homeless, and has built several homes (using local contractors) while presenting multiple site options to city leaders. The plan awaits further consideration from municipal officials. Action News Now
- ➤ On Tuesday, students and residents gathered at West Third and Orange streets for the annual 'Drop and Dash' that helps clear move-out clutter near Chico State. Organizers set aside salvageable items for donation — and will host another event on Thursday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Action News Now

- ➤ Whiskeytown Environmental School is set to rebuild its campus after its environmental assessment was complete—addressing damage from the 2018 Carr Fire and later burn-scar flooding. The new design focuses on resilience and sustainability to help prevent future wildfire impacts. Action News Now

- ➤ CAL FIRE-Butte Unit will conduct a controlled burn in Magalia to reduce hazardous fuels and improve public safety between May 27 and May 29. The Rambling Unit project will treat about 50 acres (between Rambling Way and Lake Paradise) as weather permits. Action News Now

- ➤ California Water Service finished a water main upgrade in central Chico this month along Chestnut and Hazel Streets to improve water flow and fire protection.
