COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, dozens of officers from 9 Butte County agencies ran a 4.1-mile course in Chico to support Special Olympics of Northern California, raising between $8,000 and $10,000 for local athletes. They joined roughly 3,500 officers across Northern California to help fund programs, equipment, and uniforms. Action News Now
- ➤ Butte Humane Society, celebrating 115 years in 2026, placed 350 animals into homes so far, provided medical care and distributed pet food; the nonprofit will host a Caddies and Canine Golf Tournament at Bidwell Park Golf Course on June 12 and its Anniversary Gala on Sept. 19. KRCR
- ➤ Last night, downtown market featured local produce, handmade goods, and an Outdoor Adventures expo (on Main and Broadway). Tonight, Chico City Plaza hosts Friday Night Concerts with Off the Record performing from 6 to 8 p.m. and shows are planned every Friday through Aug. 28. Action News Now
