- ➤ Jose Alvarado-Rodriguez, a 50-year-old man from Chico, pleaded no contest to charges of attempted kidnapping and rape—he accepted a 36-year prison term to stop teenage victims from testifying and will return to court on July 9. Action News Now
- ➤ A man was shot in the foot after a fight on Saturday night near 3rd and Normal Ave. in downtown Chico — he was taken to a nearby hospital and police are investigating the incident. KRCR

- ➤ On Friday, City of Chico crews will hand out seven-day notices at three sites where homeless people have been camping, as part of the city's efforts to manage these areas. Action News Now
