CRIME NEWS

  • A driver faced DUI charges after crashing into a home and another car at the intersection of Walnut and West Ninth Streets early Tuesday morning, investigators said alcohol played a role and the driver was taken to Enloe Health for examination — road crews are working to install a new traffic signal as part of a planned Caltrans project — as the investigation continues.  Action News Now

  • Leilani Alva, a Gateway Science Museum alumna and Chico State graduate, now leads school programs at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity and says hands-on exhibits help spark kids’ interest in science. She worked nearly five years at Gateway (earning her bachelor’s degree in agricultural science and education in December 2021) and recalls guiding second graders through interactive lessons that deepened her passion for museum education.  Chico State Today
