- ➤ A 25-year-old woman was arrested on July 2 for selling illegal fireworks in the Chico area after CAL FIRE found roughly 60 pounds of fireworks and evidence of past sales on her property—she is now held without bail in Butte County Jail for a misdemeanor health and safety code violation. - ➤ An Oroville man named Jason Bryan Pittman was arrested on July 3 for causing a 2.5 acre fire on May 30 on Ophir Rd. in South Oroville while parts of Butte County were under a Red Flag Warning and he now faces charges of reckless burning and misdemeanor trespassing with bail set at $16,000.
