- ➤ The City of Chico and the Chico Arts Commission have launched the Power Up Public Art project to turn 15 downtown utility boxes into artworks painted by local artists. - ➤ Chico Police arrested 44-year-old John Minar on Monday afternoon at Motel 6 after he attempted to enter a locked room by threatening a victim with a knife — he was booked into Butte County Jail on charges of threatening crime with intent to terrorize and trespassing. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico police arrested Branden Thurston on Jul 8 after surveillance footage showed him allegedly stealing a $4,000 bike last month and later recovering it from a North Chico home. Action News Now
