- ➤ The Oroville Recreation Advisory Committee met on July 9 to review the watercraft inspection program launched by the California Department of Water Resources & officials said the program, which has inspected over 4,000 boats since May 16, aims to stop invasive golden mussels that can clog pipes at Lake Oroville. Experts warn that rising temperatures could increase infestation risks, urging boaters to follow decontamination steps. KRCR

- ➤ Chico City Council is reconsidering its plan to close South Park Drive after local residents pushed for simply repaving the road at a cost of $680,000. Planning Commissioner Nichole Nava said the project will be put out to bid early next year — and Council Member Tom Van Overbeek reversed his vote after strong public outcry. Action News Now
