- ➤ At the 21st annual Wheelin’ with Cops event in Butte Meadows, Boys & Girls Club kids rode 4-wheelers with law enforcement officers up to Colby Mtn Lookout—an experience that paired youth with officers in a fun, controlled setting. Action News Now
- ➤ Families from Chico and other areas visited Lake Oroville North Forebay today to beat the triple-digit heat after a swimming advisory was issued at Sycamore Pool, and they enjoyed the cooler water and community atmosphere while using boats and tubes for fun. Action News Now
- ➤ On Saturday, 80 Boys + Girls Club kids joined the 21st annual Wheelin' With Cops event in Butte Meadows by riding in 40 off-road vehicles with law enforcement to the Colby Mountain Lookout. They later had lunch and watched a fire hose demonstration that left them wet and earned prizes. Action News Now

- ➤ CAL FIRE Butte Unit responded to a structure fire near Robinson Mill on Saturday, July 12 around 4:59 p.m.—firefighters found a large building fully engulfed with flames that had spread to surrounding vegetation and dropped retardant on the half-acre blaze. Action News Now
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ 51-year-old Gerald "Mikey" Thompson (the suspect) was arrested by Chico Police on Thursday night in connection with a shooting that fatally struck one person Monday night at a homeless alternative camp near Eaton Road and Cohasset Road. Action News Now
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Local bowling alleys are offering a free youth bowling program all summer — giving local bowlers the chance to play. The program is open to young players in Chico and will run throughout the season. Action News Now
