Good morning, Chico.

Construction is underway on the new Chico Bike Park along Humboldt Road between Forest Avenue and Notre Dame Boulevard—planned to open in 2026 with biking trails, a pump track and community amenities.

The $5 million project is fully funded by the Lupine Legacy Foundation and is expected to fill a local recreational gap.

In Berry Creek, deputies responded on July 10 to reports of an armed individual and detained 56-year-old Chuebee Moua after stopping his vehicle, which led to a search that uncovered a semi-automatic pistol and high-capacity magazines — he now faces charges of criminal threats, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon.
