- ➤ Late Sunday at around 11:25 p.m., a single-car crash near Skyway and Pentz Road injured a man, a woman, and a 10-year-old who were taken to Enloe Hospital while police arrested driver Devrick Ward on charges including DUI causing injury, child endangerment, resisting arrest, and domestic violence—he had refused a chemical test. - ➤ A candlelight vigil was held yesterday at Children's Park in Chico to honor 84-year-old Dolores Sakamoto and her 64-year-old daughter Vivian Luna—who vanished a year ago after leaving town, with their car found in Shasta County in March and human remains discovered nearby, as investigators continue their search for answers. - ➤ On July 3rd, the Department of Water Resources issued a caution advisory for Lake Oroville's Middle Fork after staff spotted an algal bloom. Officials said tests found no toxins but they will keep checking the water and ask people to avoid contact with the algae. KRCR

- ➤ The Butte County Search and Rescue team spent the weekend training at Thermalito Afterbay using their new drone to drop flotation devices for swimmers in distress—technicians also practiced safe jumps from helicopters hovering 10 feet above the water. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico drivers should expect delays on Highway 32 as crews begin overnight work between West Sacramento Ave and West 9th Street from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The road rehabilitation project, part of a $43 million investment, will run for the rest of the month—motorists should plan to take alternate routes.
