- ➤ Chico Police arrested Nicholas Sheley on July 22 for battery on a spouse, violation of a domestic violence restraining order, unauthorized entry of a dwelling, and resisting an executive officer — he was booked into Butte County Jail. Action News Now
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A Harvard University study found one in three Chico renters spent more than half their income on housing (up from 32% last year to 34%) as rising rents and falling incomes put pressure on residents. The report explained that a $100 increase in median rent and a $250 drop in median income have strained seniors, disabled individuals and students. North State Public Radio
