- ➤ The Clapp family took over Scotty's Landing from John Scott and plan to upgrade the Chico landmark on the Sacramento River by adding live music, fishing tournaments, kayaking, and tubing. They will reopen the property early next spring—local contractors are working on permits while plans for an RV park replace the old mobile home park. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico city officials painted new bright green lines on streets on July 25 to boost bicyclist safety — the project follows local studies that found clearer markings were needed for busy roads. Action News Now

- ➤ The city has started work in the Chapman neighborhood near Chapman Elementary to expand fiber optic internet through the North Valley Fiber Project — crews have laid 10,000 linear feet of fiber and will add 200,000 more over the next 12 to 18 months as the city manages the network for service providers. - ➤ New green markings have been added on streets like Notre Dame Blvd, Oleander Ave and Esplanade to mark areas where bikes and cars can come into conflict—Brendan Ottoboni, director of Public Works-Engineering, said the marks are part of the Esplanade Safety and Accessibility Project to boost bike and pedestrian safety.
