  • Azad's Martial Arts on Walnut Street is hosting its annual Back to School drive where community members can drop off backpacks and school supplies to help children in need until August 15.   • Yesterday, S—L Recycling opened a new recycling center in Chico where residents can bring aluminum, plastic and glass items for cash, and the collected materials will be transported to Redding to be melted into new products. Owner Skip Barker said the center builds on his family's recycling legacy.  KRCR

HEALTH NEWS

  • Several families are considering legal action after their children were hospitalized with severe E. coli infections linked to Sycamore Pool and Big Chico Creek. City and county officials are reviewing water testing protocols—lawyers argue that safer monitoring measures are needed to prevent further illnesses.  North State Public Radio
