- ➤ Rajneet Kooner was crowned Miss Butte County at the Fair in Gridley on Thursday night—she earned a scholarship and other prizes. The 2025 court will attend over 50 community service events across Butte County, starting with fair activities like helping in the kids zone. Action News Now
- ➤ Donated backpacks filled with school supplies are now being delivered to Northstate schools through the Pack-a-Backpack campaign with Les Schwab Tires—donations are accepted until Friday, August 29 to support students in Shasta, Butte, Tehama, Glenn and Humboldt counties as they prepare for the school year. - ➤ On Friday morning, 280 new agriculture majors arrived at Chico State's University Farm with 65 choosing the pre-vet track—this is 40 more students than last year and they will learn by doing in animal, plant, and soil science. Action News Now
