- ➤ Chico Police Department's Target Team arrested 40-year-old Tadashi Oto on August 29th—police said he saw him using narcotics in plain view along the East Lassen Avenue bike path. Action News Now

- ➤ AAA reported that Chico's gas prices were the lowest seen this summer since 2021, with regular gas averaging $4.47 per gallon as of August 29, and drivers are advised to check prices before pumping over Labor Day weekend; Doug Johnson explained that refinery issues in Indiana & a 10% weekly increase statewide may push rates higher. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chico State is scheduled to receive over $1 million in state funds for its agtech program, part of an 80 million allocation announced Friday, August 22 by Governor Gavin Newsom — a project aimed at helping small farmers use sustainable irrigation and improve grazing practices.
