- ➤ Butte County Library announced it will remove late fees for overdue books starting Monday due to its new amnesty program - fines of 25-cent per late day are eliminated while borrowers remain responsible for any book damage. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Honey Run Road and Centerville Road in Butte County will be rehabilitated starting September 4 until early November as crews rebuild pavement, repair drainage and add safety upgrades — lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays will affect traffic. - ➤ Legal Services of Northern California filed an opposition brief on Friday in response to the City of Chico's motion for relief from the final settlement in the Warren v. City of Chico Homeless Settlement—arguing that the settlement agreement is valid and the city lacks viable grounds for relief.
