- ➤ Lulu's Outlet in downtown Chico announced it will close at the end of the month while its headquarters remain on Humboldt Avenue for online business—shoppers are taking advantage of steep discounts before the shop shuts its doors. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Chico police are searching for a suspect who hit a person and stole a bicycle in Downtown Chico at 11:45 a.m. on Friday—officers recovered the bike after a citizen found it, but the suspect remains at large. Action News Now
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Chico will remove non-native Eucalyptus trees from Bidwell Park starting Monday to lower fire risks and keep the park safe—temporary access restrictions will apply on South Park Drive. After removal, officials will replant the area with native California trees to restore the park’s natural look—community groups and private donations are supporting the project. Action News Now
- ➤ Goats are grazing the Lindo Channel between Manzanita Avenue and Highway 99 as part of a FEMA-funded project to reduce fire fuel loads and create defensible space for nearby properties—Capra Environmental Services Corp. is providing hundreds of goats with electric fencing and onsite herdsmen and guard dogs for public safety.
