- ➤ Chico musician Scout The Wise released his 10th album, 'Problems,' which turns raw feelings into songs—showing that art can be honest even if it is not perfect. - ➤ Erin Hunter, a Communication Design alumna from Chico State, creates art that shows how flowers and pollinators work together; she works in her Monterey Bay studio + teaches botanical art while exhibiting her science-inspired pieces. Chico State Today
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Invasive golden mussels were reportedly seen in Butte County last week and an inspection at Thermalito North Forebay stopped them from entering water systems—this is only the second sighting and it raises concerns for local water safety. KRCR

- ➤ The Chico Fire Department marked the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with ceremonies at Fire Stations 1 and 2—where flag lowering, bell ringing, and a minute of silence honored 343 fallen firefighters—and Chico Dispatch recited key details at 7:05 a.m. The remembrance took place early Thursday morning in downtown Chico.
