- ➤ On Monday, the Harvest Market was held on the Chico State University campus between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.—multiple vendors and live music drew a crowd as organizers expected up to 1,000 visitors. Action News Now
- ➤ A Chico family received a piece of history when Mandy Robins got her late brother Sgt. Bob Adams’ military ID on Sept. 22 in New York—58 years after his helicopter was shot down in Laos during the Vietnam War. Adams, a Chico High School graduate, was posthumously promoted and is honored at national memorials while his remains were never recovered. Action News Now
- ➤ Butte County Search and Rescue received a $20,000 grant from the California Fire Foundation in partnership with PG&E to buy fire safety equipment like Nomex clothing and eye protection—helping the volunteer group prepare for wildfire season. The group, which has 48 members and 9 trainees in training, plans to use the funds to boost its response capabilities. KRCR
- ➤ At 5PM on Monday, September 22, a helicopter dropped hundreds of golf balls onto a hole at Canyon Oaks Golf Course in Chico to raise funds for Butte County Search and Rescue—prizes went to balls that landed closest to the hole. Action News Now

- ➤ North Valley Health Education Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary last night at the Enloe Health Conference Center by awarding $33,300 in scholarships to 29 students from five North State counties—bringing its total contributions to over one million dollars since 1975. KRCR
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Nearly seven years after the Camp Fire, Paradise still lacks hospital care because Adventist Health closed the Feather River Hospital in November 2018 — residents now drive 20 minutes to Chico for treatment. The town began a study in June to encourage healthcare providers to expand local services and hopes a new hospital will help attract more residents. Action News Now

- ➤ Core Butte Charter School’s new sports complex is nearly finished but its official ribbon-cutting ceremony is postponed to next week as a rescheduled soccer game against Quincy is set to begin at 3:15 p.m. on that day.
