- ➤ Oktoberfest 2025 will be held at The Barn at Meriam Park from October 3 to 5 with a family-friendly day on October 3 featuring live music, face painting and games, and an adults-only festival on October 4 and 5 offering a full meal, craft beer and stein holding contests. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ CAL FIRE and the Butte County Fire Department will conduct a control burn from October 1 through October 3 on 433 acres in the Phoenix Hill area east of Oroville—aiming to reduce hazardous fuels and improve safety for communities such as Hurleton, Swedes Flat, East Oroville and Robinson Mill. Smoke will be visible in Oroville and south Butte County as the burn takes place when weather conditions are right. Action News Now
- ➤ Yuba Water Agency will increase flows on the Yuba River below New Bullards Bar Dam starting September 29 as the powerhouse is taken offline for maintenance—local recreators are urged to avoid the area. The flow will rise from its usual 6 to 40 cubic feet per second to about 900 and continue through February. Action News Now
