- ➤ Carole Foley, a volunteer trapper with Neighborhood Cat Advocates in Oroville, set a baited cage trap at a rental home where she caught one of about 36 cats, including 20 feral cats, in 15 minutes. She has trapped more than 3,000 cats in four years and now the nonprofit is asking for more volunteers in Oroville and Palermo to help curb the overpopulation. Action News Now
- ➤ Chico High will hold its season opener on October 10 at 7 p.m. featuring over 300 American flags arranged by veterans Mike Orr and Patrick Welsh to honor the nation’s 250th anniversary—The flags, varying in size, will line the field and surrounding areas with smaller ones carried by players as they enter. - ➤ On Oct 1, the Neighborhood Cat Advocates group in Oroville worked to trap feral cats so they could be vaccinated, spayed—and neutered. The effort aimed to make the cats healthier and lower the stray population. Action News Now

- ➤ Butte County supervisors approved plans to develop a 40-room mental health rehab center—leasing the closed Enloe Behavioral Health facility so local residents can receive psychiatric therapy, case management and medical support instead of staying in jail. - ➤ Yesterday, Butte County’s B-Line transit system introduced its first electric buses as part of California’s push for zero-emission public transit by 2040.
