EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chico State students gained hands-on construction experience on Sept 26 at the Inspire School campus, a joint effort by Chico Unified School District, Modern Building Company, and McGuire and Hester. The tour taught them key skills in planning and budgeting and will lead to more on-site visits next semester + further real-world exposure. KRCR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Butte Environmental Council will host a gala event to celebrate its 50th anniversary—organizers are preparing plans to mark this milestone in environmental work. Action News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Butte County lifted the burn permit suspension on Oct 13, and residents must still obtain permits and follow safe burning guidelines—burning only dry, natural vegetative material from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. until the fire season ends. KRCR
- ➤ California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1175 on Oct 14 at Chico State University, lowering the requirements for becoming a certified public accountant by now requiring two years of hands-on, general accounting experience instead of one year. This change will affect all future CPA candidates in the state. Action News Now
