- ➤ High school students from 19 schools gathered at Metal Works in Oroville on Friday for Steel and Wheels Day where they learned welding, steel work, and safe use of heavy machinery. Teachers chose five students per school—providing hands-on experience and live demonstrations like laser cutting—while inspiring some to consider a career in the steel industry. Action News Now

- ➤ Chico completed a ten year $13 million transportation project that upgraded the historic Esplanade with a new 1.2 mile bike path and improved signal timing at 11th Avenue & Memorial Way. City leaders said the project, funded largely by state & federal sources with local contributions of $4.8 million, will increase safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and students. Action News Now

- ➤ At Hooker Oak Park on Friday, October 24, the CCAA Cross Country Championships returned for the first time in 12 years as Chico State's men's and women's teams won the 8K and 6K races. The men's win marked their 23rd consecutive title and the women's was their 15th in 17 years—both led by stars Mario Giannini and Iresh Molina. KRCR
