- ➤ Dave Bradley and his wife Denise, who lived in Paradise for over 30 years before the Camp Fire destroyed their home, plan to mark the seventh anniversary by harvesting lemons from a bush grown from seeds saved by Bradley’s sister, and the three bushes—now six feet tall—are bearing fruit for the first time. - ➤ A drive-through food distribution at Southside Oroville Community Center served more than 500 households Friday as families faced delayed SNAP benefits that increased reliance on other food help. The Community Action Agency will hold another event at Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon to address growing demand. Action News Now

- ➤ Chico will host the Butte Film Festival on December 6 and 7 at Meriam Park Barn as Northern California's largest student film festival returns with categories in Drama, Comedy, Horror, Action/Sci-Fi, and Animation. Students will organize screenings, a Golden Doors Awards Ceremony, and after-parties — offering a western-themed celebration for emerging filmmakers. Action News Now

- ➤ Chico State hosted a health career fair on November 7th that let local high school students meet health care agencies, academic programs, and community organizations. The event offered hands-on demonstrations, mini-talks, and mentoring sessions — giving students a look at health careers. Action News Now
- ➤ Children in Butte County up to age five can now receive free, age-appropriate books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provided by the Butte County Office of Education. Enrollment began on November 4, with about 950 children already signed up+ the program aims to give rural families easier access to books. KRCR

- ➤ Homeowners in Chico are rushing to finish solar installations before the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit—offering a 30% cost reduction with battery incentives—is lost after Dec. 31. OHM Solar Solutions warns that permitting delays have already hindered some projects and installations in Yuba County, Marysville, Lincoln, Orland, and Anderson must start by Nov. 15. KRCR
- ➤ Residents in the Camp Fire area including Concow, Yankee Hill, Butte Creek Canyon, Magalia, and Paradise may apply for a grant to receive a $200 to $500 gravel voucher that will help hardscape the five feet around their homes — a step aimed at boosting wildfire defense. Action News Now
