- ➤ Three beloved Chico businesses—Lovely Layers Cakery, Momona, and The Winchester Goose—will close by the end of this year amid difficult economic conditions. The owners announced the closures on Facebook over the weekend. Action News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Chico’s annual leaf collection program begins today and will run until Jan. 1 as Public Works Manager Mike Slattery says keeping leaves off the street prevents flooding by keeping storm drains clear. The route runs from the southwest side north in a clockwise loop and residents must use green waste containers and follow pile guidelines—commercial operators must take leaves to the compost facility. - ➤ The Chico State men’s cross country team won its ninth consecutive NCAA West Region title on Nov 9 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth—Oregon. Damian Garcia led with an individual championship while three teammates earned All-West Region honors. Action News Now
- ➤ The Chico State women's cross-country team regained its conference title at the 2025 CCAA Championships after strong competition — it also secured its 10th championship at the NCAA West Regionals in program history. Action News Now
- ➤ The Paradise Bobcats 14-U team beat the West Sacramento Bears to win the 20-25 Crossover Championship — held on the 7th anniversary of the Camp Fire on November 9 — marking a historic win for Paradise youth sports. Action News Now
