- ➤ Chico schools raised over $3.1M at the annual Almond Bowl Car Raffle, with Chico Nissan Hyundai donating a new car to support athletics, music, and drama programs—this year Pleasant Valley High School raised $170,560 and Chico High School collected $154,600. The raffle funds helped pay for new equipment, uniforms, and other essentials for student programs—continuing a longstanding community tradition. Action News Now

- ➤ On Friday, crews broke ground at Chico State University for a new human identification lab that will be the largest full-time forensic anthropology laboratory west of Texas — the project will enhance the campus's research and education in forensic studies. Action News Now

- ➤ Visitors and paddlers on the Feather River face faster and higher currents today and are urged to be cautious. PG&E will increase water flows — in the Poe Reach section of the North Fork to manage the surge. Action News Now

- ➤ Congressmen Doug LaMalfa and John Garamendi reintroduced the Flood Insurance for Farmers Act of 2025 to let Northstate farmers bundle their buildings under one insurance policy—aiming to lower fees and ease financial burdens for farms in flood-prone areas. The bill will be reviewed by the committee and could bring relief to farmers in counties like Butte and Sutter. KRCR
- ➤ State parks officials met with stakeholders in Chico on November 14th to discuss the future of the fire-damaged Bidwell Mansion as part of the Reimagine Bidwell Mansion process. They expect an engineering report in December — that report will guide whether the mansion is rebuilt and a temporary reopening of the visitors center is planned. KRCR
