- ➤ Boy Scouts troop 31 and community volunteers planted 400 conifer seedlings along Cohasset Road on Saturday to restore land cleared by the County Right-of-Entry program—Sierra Pacific Industries donated the trees and local experts helped fertilize many seedlings for growth in the Park Fire burn scar areas. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service announced that prescribed burns in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest will start Monday and continue through Friday in McCloud, Mount Shasta and Weaverville pending weather conditions. Officials said the burns will reduce overgrown vegetation—helping protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfire risk. Action News Now
