  • Local parents at the Downtown Chico Ice Rink have raised concerns about an Oregrown advertisement that they say is not right for children—one parent emailed her worries and questioned if the sign meets state rules.   • Action News Now reporter Emilio Del Carpio in Chico reported that local travelers plan to drive between 100 and 300 miles for Thanksgiving while AAA estimates about 81.6 million drivers will be on the road from November 25 to December 1—drivers are urged to take extra care due to risks like icy roads, speeding, and impaired driving.   • Construction on the Chico Bike Park is progressing as ramps and turns take shape on the 6-acre site -- a joint effort by Chico Velo and the Chico Area Recreation District -- with plans to build a food court, parking lot and complete landscaping for a summer 2026 opening.   • Butte County officials confirmed that former Chico Mayor Maureen Kirk died on November 25. Local leaders remembered her as a devoted public servant with 20 years of service for the community — her legacy remains in local government.  KRCR
