Good morning, Chico.

Families in Butte Meadows are keeping a cherished tradition alive by paying $10 for permits to cut down live Christmas trees from public land in Lassen National Forest and driving six miles to Jonesville; the Butte Meadows Mercantile and Resort hosts Winterfest 2025 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow. This event brings families together for a memorable holiday outing.

Local shoppers showed a clear preference for hands-on shopping despite the growing trend toward online sales.

Beyond Golf Chico opened its new attraction on Friday next to DeGarmo Park in North Chico featuring a 9-hole par-3 course, food truck patio and practice range.

The facility serves beginner and youth golfers while planning Phase 2 developments — including an 18-hole putting course, outdoor restaurant and simulator area — to expand its offerings.
