Good morning, Chico.

Downtown Chico hosted Small Business Saturday on Nov 29, 2025, drawing crowds who supported local businesses with special sales and promotions — a sign of vibrant community involvement.

Residential burning is permitted today and tomorrow in most of Butte County — except within Chico city limits — and lots in the Chico Sphere of Influence must measure at least 0.90 acres.

Burning in Magalia, the Upper Ridge and unincorporated areas is allowed from 8:45 a.m. until one hour before sunset, while residents in Paradise, Biggs, Gridley and Oroville must hold active permits or obtain CAL FIRE and district approval for agricultural burning.
