- ➤ Holiday markets bring festive cheer at Meriam Park this weekend as youth display crafts. The Little’s Lunar Market runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today with 32 vendors, and additional markets occur Sunday at Mangrove Ave. and Pillsbury Road — all linked by a holiday crawl. Action News Now
- ➤ Officials and community partners gathered at the 19th Annual Butte County Fire Safe Council Wildfire Safety Summit in Paradise on Friday, Dec. 12 to review wildfire recovery efforts, including thousands of defensible space inspections and fuel reductions. They stressed strengthened partnerships for better fire prevention (the summit showcased successful collaborations). KRCR

- ➤ The Chico Art Center is hosting a retrospective of Nicolai Larsen’s work from Dec. 9 to Jan. 16, with a reception on Jan. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m., a Dec. 14 tour at 2 p.m. led by his wife (Marion Hunziker-Larsen), and presentations on Jan. 10 and 11. Action News Now
- ➤ The American Crown Circus’s Circus Osorio has arrived in Chico at Silver Dollar Fairgrounds where it will perform through Sunday; the family-run circus & its century-old tradition marks the final stop of its annual tour. KRCR

- ➤ The Chico Area Recreation & Park District said the cannabis sign at the downtown ice rink is a sponsorship mark, not an advertisement, after a local parent raised concerns last November. The district explained the sponsorship funds help keep the rink affordable for families. Action News Now
