USDA announced a $700 million regenerative agriculture pilot program to offer grants enhancing soil health (funding comes from the Environmental Quality Incentives and Conservation Stewardship Programs).
Chico State supports the effort through its Center for Regenerative Agriculture, which has aided over 100 projects on 34,000 acres.
CAL FIRE began a controlled burn Monday and is continuing today at Doe Mill Ridge between Forest Ranch and Magalia to remove hazardous fuels over (30 acres) as part of its Vegetation Management Program with local partners and careful weather monitoring to reduce wildfire risk.

Nash Ranch haunted house now complies with new local permit rules—an update designed to meet safety standards and improve visitor experience.
