EDUCATION NEWS

  • Professor Sam Siewert brings his NASA+Intel experience to Chico State as he teaches computer science and leads research in robotics sensor fusion and environmental monitoring to prepare students for emerging technology challenges.  Chico State Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Butte County supervisors approved an agreement with Verizon to build a 100-foot cell tower off Keefer Road in North Chico to improve coverage before a new fire station opens. Verizon will pay about $1,500 monthly with a 3% yearly increase.  KRCR
  • Crews are finishing the Salem Street Bridge replacement between West 9th and 10th Streets, with an opening expected in a few weeks. The project updates a 1915 bridge demolished last June and will soon add bike lanes while preserving a historic design for views of the creek.  Action News Now
  • Chico Police are investigating a viral video from Tuesday that shows an alleged Enloe Health nurse confronting a Target employee over a (Charlie Kirk Freedom) t-shirt at the local store while Enloe Health launches an internal review as high call volumes affect patient access.  Action News Now
