- ➤ Chico native Aaron Rodgers was honored as North Valley Philanthropist of the Year at the inaugural Community Foundation Gala at the Big Room at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company on March 13 — he sent a video message explaining he could not attend due to hosting a charity flag football event in Southern California and noting his role in seeding funds for wildfire recovery and COVID-19 small business relief. He has contributed seven-figure donations that helped attract millions in additional support for the foundation. Action News Now

- ➤ The Chico Community Ballet will present the 34th annual Keeping Dance Alive! celebration on March 26 and 27 — the event will highlight the vibrant and diverse dance community from the North State. Action News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Aero-Flite has held its fifth annual aerial firefighting training at the Chico hangar on Piper Avenue to get over 70 pilots ready for wildfire missions—using both simulator rides and live exercises to work toward fire certification with the U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire. The training helps keep aircraft ready year-round as wildfires occur outside the traditional season. Action News Now
